Found: Jane Milas of Meriden asked for the recipe for the coleslaw served at Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale on Route 1 in Westbrook and Madison. She says, “It is outstanding.”

This Labor Day weekend, picnics and barbecues will celebrate the unofficial end of summer. Coleslaw is a popular side dish served at these gatherings, so I thought I would share the requested recipe today.

I was curious to know why it is called coleslaw and learn a bit about its history, so I did a bit of investigating. It was amazing to see how much has been written about this simple food, including this comedic answer I found on “Yahoo Answers”:
